IBS is often defined as the “diagnosis of exclusive”. A person is
given this diagnosis when they suffer from a variety of digestive
complaints but all the lab tests come back as normal. Common
symptoms include:
- Constipation and/or diarrhea
- Flatulence/gas
- Abdominal pain/bloating
- Nausea
- Anxiety
- Low appetite
Goals of Naturopathic Treatment:
- Address food sensitivities through very sensitive and
scientific testing methods
- Address stress factors and work on coping mechanisms
- Improve functioning of digestive enzymes
- Replenish good bacteria and remove bad bacteria
- Improve nutrition to ensure the correct balance of fiber,
protein, fats and complex carbohydrates
- Assist in gaining a better understanding of which agents
or foods are aggravating your digestive system
